Dalvin Cook named NFC Offensive Player of the Month for November

Dallas Cowboys v Minnesota Vikings

Despite a 1-5 start to the season, the Minnesota Vikings heated up in November and finished with a 4-1 record in the month. Now sitting at 5-6 ahead of Sunday's matchup with the Jaguars, the Vikings are still in control of their own destiny when it comes to a chance at the playoffs.

A big reason for the recent success has been the breakout season of Dalvin Cook. The Vikings were faced with a big decision this offseason and it’s starting to look as if they made the right choice in re-signing their star running back.

Cook was named NFC Offensive Player of the Week with his stellar performance over the month of November.

Over the month of November Cook ran the ball 127 times for 641 yards and six touchdowns, while also playing a significant role in the passing game. Cook is the 11th player in Vikings history to receive the award.

Even though Cook was the one to win the award, it should also be noted that Kirk Cousins had a great month as well. Cousins completed over 72 percent of his passes for nearly 1,300 yards, 12 touchdowns and just one interception.

It’s a good problem to have when there’s two players on the same roster that were in contention for this award, especially considering the Vikings have only had 11 players to win the award in team history.

There is still a good chunk of season left to be played, but the Vikings’ offense looks to be set up for long-term success.
