Giannis’ big night leads to second straight win

Reigning two-time NBA MVP looked every bit the part Friday night in Portland during the Bucks 127-109 win over the Trailblazers.

Antetokounmpo dropped in 47 points on 18-21 shooting from the field (his only missed shots were his three 3-point attempts) and grabbed 12 rebounds. Teammates Jrue Holiday (22 points) and Khris Middleton (20 points) combined for a plus-minus of +51.

Milwaukee also saw new acquisition Jeff Teague in uniform for the first time. Teague played 13 minutes off the bench, scoring two points, and dishing out two assists.

Portland had leads of 3-0 and 6-2, but that evaporated quickly. Milwaukee took the lead for good on a Giannis layup 2:21 into the first quarter and never looked back.

Milwaukee (31-17) trails Brooklyn by 2.5 games for the top spot in the NBA’s Eastern Conference. The Bucks are at Sacramento to play the Kings (22-27) Saturday night.
