Coach Luke Fickell Ready To Get Spring Football Practice Underway

Spring is in the air and that means Wisconsin Badgers spring practice will be getting underway. Beginning on Saturday, Badgers football will have the first of their spring practices, which have been highly anticipated since the hiring of head coach Luke Fickell.

At his press conference on Monday, Fickell spoke to the beginning of "Phase 3" of their offseason program and maximizing opportunities to work on football after weeks of offseason strength and conditioning. It'll be a first chance to see what's expected to be a new look Wisconsin team, especially on offense. With several transfers coming in and a brand new staff, according to Fickell the meshing between the returning players, the new players, and the coaches has gone well

When asked about his goals for spring practice, Fickell said there's only one goal and that's to win championships, although they won't talk about that much during spring. But there will be objectives the Badgers will be looking to achieve, objectives for position groups, and objectives as a whole. The top three objectives for the team are "toughness, togetherness, and speed".

On transfer quarterback Tanner Mordecai, "I haven't sensed any of the things that I worry about...He's done a phenomenal job. He's been everything that I would hope for... Proved a lot of things I think not just to me and the coaches but the players".

Wisconsin will host "The Launch" on April 22nd at Camp Randall, an open spring practice event that is open to fans.
